Split Pea Soup

Peas are smooth and healthy making this a soup you can have as a side or as a meat-less main dish, or even breakfast!

Ingredients:

  • 6 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • 2 cups split green peas
  • 1 cup chopped raw carrot
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 1 large chopped onion
  • 2 cloves chopped garlic
  •  sea salt
  • dash of cumin powder, curry powder, basil, thyme and fresh parsley
  • 1 piece of sea veggie

Steps/Methods:

Cook above ingredients in chicken or vegetable broth until peas are tender and mushy – about 2 hours. You may puree this mixture if desired, or just part of it.

Serve hot. Good for breakfast or as a meal when served with whole grain muffins or breads.
