A good burger is hard to find.

Andrea and I recently visited L.A. and were invited for lunch to an amazing fast food burger restaurant called O!burger. Situated in the heart of Santa Monica, it is one restaurant definitely worth checking out if you’re in the neighborhood.
O!burger operates on a simple concept: it’s a HEALTHY fast food burger house that uses only organic ingredients for every item on the menu. Because their turkey and grass-fed beef is organic, it is free of both hormones and antibiotics while tasting great. Believe it or not, even their condiments are entirely organic.

We tried several items on the menu and loved them all. I opted for the grass fed beef burger – I was hankering for some Omega 3s – and it was both juicy and tender. Andrea’s turkey burger was downright scrumptious.

Because we were trying to eat healthy, we both ordered the side order of grilled veggies. Yes - you heard it right - grilled veggies as a menu option at a burger joint. I couldn't believe it myself, and yet, they were delicious. We also sampled their regular and organic potato fries. If meat is not on your menu, they also offer tasty homemade organic veggie burgers.
We wondered how they came up with this brilliant idea, so we sat down with the owners of O!burger: Andy Soboil, a personal chef and Martha Chang, a film producer. It was obvious that their love of healthier fare, convenient food and the environment were their inspiration.

For drinks we chose some of our favorite brands of soda including Santa Cruz Organics (I love their spritzers) and Blue Sky Beverage (Andrea’s favorite is root beer). Martha shared her Kombucha Tea with us, which we really liked as well.

Andy and Martha’s goal is to be as eco-friendly as possible. They purchase products whose packaging is made from renewable resources and are recyclable, compostable and/or biodegradable. Even their cleaning products are green and non-toxic and they painted the restaurant using AFM Safecoat paint (zero/low-VOC) while the wood panelling decor was reclaimed from a farm.

Martha and Andy were very hospitable and graciously allowed us to film a host of celebrity interviews in their restaurant.

We all left feeling totally satisfied. We are hoping O!burger will become the newest trend in fast food restaurants and that there will soon be one in every city!!

What a fantastic treasure of a discovery to be found in the Golden State.
