Blackberry Compote

Nothing signals the nearing end of summer like the perfectly soft fully sweet blackberry. This mixture can be served on top of wild king salmon or pour it on top of chopped fruit, sorbet, ice cream, pudding etc.

  • Ingredients
    • 5 cup ripe blackberries + ½ cup

    • 1/8 cup agave syrup

    • 8 leaves mint, chiffonade

    • 1/8 cup blackberry liqueur


  • Methods / Steps

    Add all ingredients (except ½ cup of blackberries) to a 3 quart saucepan and cook on medium for 15 min. Push down on berries to break them up and stir to keep from burning the mixture. Add the last ½ cup of blackberries and cook for 1 more minute. Serve immediately or cool and store. Mixture should keep up to four days.
