Essentia is our feature green company of the month. I came across this company when I met the CEO at a green living trade show in early 2010. Jack, the founder of Essentia, set out to invent a natural foam when a family member was diagnosed with cancer. Doctors made him aware that most items we surround ourselves with are not very healthy; paint, carpet, computers, detergents and even our mattresses. Three years later he succeeded in making what he calls 'natural memory foam'. It’s a foam made from rubber tree sap similar to latex rubber foam. He then started Essentia and the rest is history.

I had an opportunity to try these mattresses first hand at the show and they felt great!
