The Monkey Bunch: Songs for Kids
Kids of all ages love music. For the little ones, music can help build on vocabulary, coordination skills and can even foster a lifelong passion for music. Finding a children’s music group that you as a parent can enjoy along with your children can prove to be a difficult task. If you’ve ever had “The Teddy Bear’s Picnic” stuck in your head for days, you know what I’m talking about.
What we look for in a children’s group is a band that actually, well, sounds like a band. Something more upbeat and cool which makes parents want to sing along, as well as the kids. Luckily, we have found such a band.
And now, Naturally Savvy is proud to introduce.... The Monkey Bunch!
‘Not your regular kids group’ is the first thing that popped into my mind when I first saw them perform. Passionate, exhilarating and hilarious, The Monkey Bunch always brings the house down. This is a band that creates music that can be appreciated on many different levels. It creates a musical experience that can be played over and over again. This modern children’s music scene grew from the idea that kids deserve just as high quality music as adults. In the words of Shoshana Sperling, the Monkey Bunch's lead singer, “[kids]... are just really short people and shouldn’t be talked down to. Even musically”. The Monkey message is fresh, fun and, most importantly, empowering.
Using humor to support their educational message concerning environmental issues, these songs are teaching our kids how to be enthusiastic about being ecologically conscious. These CDS are a step by step guide for making kids into mini earth heroes.
With two albums already under their belt, The Monkey Bunch is growing fast in popularity. Our favorite songs from their newest album, Power to the Little People are “Don’t Let your Cars Idle” and “Boris the Spider”. Their first album from 2005, Sho Mo and the Monkey Bunch is also a masterpiece of groovy goofy guidelines for our future eco leaders.
If you are looking to spice up your children’s CD collection or just want music with some strength of character, The Monkey Bunch is definitely for you and your kids.
