Lavash Wheat Crackers from Ozery Bakery

The Ozery Bakery inc. is serious about baking. For over 10 years, Ozery has provided tasty, nutritious and health oriented products that don’t compromise taste. When they sent us samples of their Lavash Wheat Crackers, we were more than happy to give them a try.

Lavash crackers are Armenian in origin. You can recognize these crackers by their thin, crisp, stretched flatbread-like appearance. When traditionally made, Lavash is rolled out flat and then smacked inside a hot, wood oven to form its familiar thinness. Lavash crackers are one of the more common types of 'bread' in the Middle East and they taste great.

What's on the Inside

Ozery only uses ingredients with no animal by-products or preservatives. The company is a small, family owned business that started out as a sandwich shop. This company embraces the phrase, ‘you are what you eat’ since they only using the best ingredients.

Ozery makes seven different varieties of Lavash crackers and they all sound delicious. We decided to try Flax and Honey, as well as Multigrain and Honey. These crackers definitely don’t belong in the same category as those broken boxed crackers you find in the snack section of your grocery store. These crackers come in a sleek, recyclable package that leaves no cracker broken. Sprinkled with sesame seeds and beautifully shaped, Lavash would pair beautifully with any dip for a snack or even at your next dinner party.

A Chrunch for all Occasions

The first thing we noticed when we bit into a Lavash cracker was its super crunch (perfect for those of us who aren’t afraid of loud snacking). We tried them in different ways: dipped in organic almond butter; dipped in hummus; and topped with chopped egg - what a treat! All three ways made for a perfect mid-afternoon nibble. You can also try topping them with fresh salsa, drizzling them with olive oil or simply enjoying them on their own.
