One of our favorite family-friendly brands at Naturally Savvy is Barbara’s Bakery. Since 1971, Barbara’s has been making all-natural cereals and snacks that not only taste good, but they are good for you too. Like many moms, we want to provide nutritious food for our families, but often find it difficult to navigate through the grocery aisles to identify the best, most wholesome foods. It’s refreshing that a brand like Barbara’s has made a commitment to only putting “good stuff” in their products and I know I can trust that the ingredients are free of anything artificial.

You may know Barbara’s for their Puffins, the lightly sweetened cereal (crunchy even in milk or arguably even better straight out of the box), but they also make wholesome, great-tasting snacks that range from cheese puffs, fig bars, animal cookies to crackers and snack bars. We’re excited about new products such as gluten-free Multigrain Puffins and their High Fiber line of cereals. We’re also hearing that Peanut Butter Chocolate Puffins may be hitting store shelves later this year. We can’t wait!

This year Barbara’s turns 40, and like many turning the big 4-0, Barbara’s decided it was time for a makeover. But this makeover was more than just a new look and logo, Barbara’s went a step further and evaluated the packaging material and how to be better to our earth. What’s great is the new design gives the brand a consistent look that is easier for health-conscious Moms (like us!) to find all of the products Barbara’s has to offer throughout the store. It also achieved an environmental goal as well by transitioning to cartons that feature 100% recycled carbon neutral Green Choice cardboard.

Not only does Barbara’s give us great products, but it also gives back to the community. More than 20 years ago Barbara’s created Barbara’s for a Brighter Future, supporting community and national causes, such as School Teaching Gardens, Audubon’s Project Puffin, Chef Ann Cooper’s The Lunch Box Project and even an employee volunteer matching program to support the organizations Barbara’s employees participate in as well. More information about each of these organizations is located here on their website.

Join us in raising our spoons to Barbara’s in celebrating 40 delicious years of all-natural delicious cereals and snacks. If you would like more information or where to find their products in your local area visit their website at www.BarbarasBakery.com.
