Probiotics Can Reduce Risk of Bladder Cancer
- Tuesday, 10 November 2009
Just two servings of yogurt a day can reduce the risk of developing bladder cancer by up to 40%, say Swedish scientists! This is absolutely amazing news.
But what should you do if you don’t want the calories or are lactose-intolerant? You can get the same benefits of two servings of yogurt with just one daily probiotic supplement. The best one I always recommend is Natren’s Healthy Trinity.
According to the researchers, “Cultured milk products, such as yogurt, contain lactic acid bacteria, which have been shown to suppress bladder cancer in rats. Our research suggests a high intake may reduce the risk.”
The study, which was published in American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, followed 82,000 patients over nine years. Its findings were clear: those people who had eaten yogurt were more likely to remain cancer-free than those who had not. Yogurt consumption reduced the risk of cancer in men by 36% and in women by 45%.
Now, that’s news we can use!
Do you take a probiotic supplement? Have you noticed the benefits?
