Fucoxanthin is a carotenoid (antioxidant) found in edible brown seaweeds. Japanese metabolic and nutritional studies indicate that fucoxanthin promotes fat burning within fat cells in white adipose tissue - particularly abdominal fat - by increasing thermogenesis (calorie burning). Additionally, iodine and other trace minerals in seaweeds support thyroid function which contributes to a healthy metabolism.

Fucoxanthin is available as a weight loss supplement. Look for products containing 20 mg of pure fucoxanthin.
