CLA
Conjugated linoleic acid is a naturally occurring fatty acid component of beef, milk, and other foods. It is derived from linoleic acid (omega-6). CLA helps regulate how the body accumulates and retains fat. It can reduce appetite, promote weight loss, and increase lean muscle mass.
CLA occurs in various foods –
naturally raised beef, eggs, whole milk and cheese – but these foods are also sources of saturated fat and cholesterol. Turkey, chicken and vegetable oils provide some CLA. It is also available in capsules (600-1,000 mg derived from sunflower or safflower oils).
