The other day I decided to go for a bike ride, which was a big deal considering it had been raining here for the past few days. However, when I was not even halfway through, the clouds opened up and the thunder and lightning started.

Now I don’t recommend biking in a thunderstorm, but I have to say it was refreshing to be outside even in the rain.

This experience got me thinking that so many times in life we get upset if our plans get “interrupted” or “changed” by a person, nature, economics, etc. So on that rainy day, instead of allowing that rain to ruin my day, I put on a big smile and decided to make the most of the situation and enjoy myself anyways. And it felt great!

Next time you get caught in “the rain,” take a deep breath and smile. Life is as good as you make it!
