2009fame_worldsOn June 13, 2009, I achieved one of my two goals for my 5th Pro Show and 28th contest overall.

For the 2009 FAME Masters Pro World Championships in Montreal, Canada, I wanted to step onto the stage about 10 pounds heavier, with the conditioning I had at the same event last year. I came in at 148 pounds, exactly 10 pounds more than last year, and I was just as conditioned.

My second goal was to move up one place from the 2008 contest and win the title. As I did last year, I placed Second. I was bested by the same athlete who won the event in 2008. I improved, and so did he.

That's what I love about our sport. We must always strive to be in better shape for a show than we were last time. I think the contest was closer this year, but at nearly the same weight as I was this time, my competitor was two inches shorter and a little wider. Our conditioning was equal. I believe I out-posed him and he out-sized me.

I have requested the judges' scoring sheets for the contest to see how we were scored in the symmetry and mandatory rounds and the posing routines, which made up 40% of the score at this show. I will be posting photos from the contest as soon as I receive them from the show's shooter.

I placed my Second Place Award, a beautiful Sword, on the shelf with my other trophies. I am now training for my next contest, the 2009 NPA Nationals and Masters Universe in North Carolina on July 18, 2009.
