Dear Patti,
I wonder if you can help me, with dream I have every year. It is always about planes crashing and then a few days after they come true. The same happened this year with the plane that went down on the hudson river and then another one that also came down this year. However, this time when I dreamt both planes came down, the passengers were all safe. I just find it very weird. - Kristina
Patti's Answer:
When we sleep, we not only dream about our unconscious personal material but many people dream about those around them, getting symbols in their dreams that give them information about the people they know in their lives. Then there are some people who receive precognitive information that tells them what will happen in the future. When we sleep, our usual defences are relaxed and it's easier for some dreamers to receive messages.
If they were my dreams, I wouldn't label them "weird". I'd call them intuitive! If, however, they bother you, before going to bed, you can ask your "dream maker" to send you only dreams that have to do with you and your life. Repeat that request to yourself as you fall asleep. Another approach is to simply record the dreams with dates in a journal so that you will have a reference to look back on when you read about planes crashing. You can check off the dreams that come true and determine what percentage of your dreams are actually psychic in nature.
At the same time, I wonder if you have other dreams that tell you about the future, but because of the dramatic nature of plane crash dreams, they get lost in the shuffle? You may have many more personal dreams as well that get ignored because they aren't so dramatic! The only way to understand the full scope and meanings of these dreams over time is to keep a dream journal. Write your dreams down and you will begin to develop a very personal dream dictionary specific to you and your life.
Sweet dreams, Patti
