Q: I keep hearing that high fructose corn syrup is unhealthy, but why?  -Jason

A: The main problem with high-fructose corn syrup is the fructose. Fructose is now considered a major factor in obesity. It circumvents the body’s normal appetite signalling system, leaving you feeling unsatisfied. As a result, you might overeat. Increasing evidence indicates that excess fructose consumption may facilitate insulin resistance, which could lead to type 2 diabetes.
