
All emotionally healthy people, given the choice, willl choose to be kind and treat people well.
Taking anything personally is a sure sign that you've forgotten your humanity. If anyone treats you less than well (or if you treat someone as less than you know you could have), there is simply some "human being" stuff in the way.
Clean it up. And move on.
Someone who you perceive was thoughtless is often the most stressed out and in need of the most understanding. That was you once—maybe even yesterday.
Have grace and compassion for yourself and others. You didn't come here to be perfect! You came here to expand joy and remember you are perfect in your imperfection.
By the way, you don't have to hang out with the person who is behaving sub-optimally according to you. It's fine to have compassion at a distance.
However you do it, the bonus of it all is: you just made a world a better place.
