Fargo Half Marathon

They say consistency is king. Well, if running two half marathons in 5 weeks with almost the exact same result than I guess I am king.
To back up a little, in my last post I mentioned my pseudo injury. I am pretty certain it was some kind of spasm because today I can barely feel it. I was nervous on Friday because it got worse again after sitting in the car for nearly 4 hours on the trip to Fargo. The morning of the race I did a few striders and jogged in the parking lot a little and didn’t feel it much. I hoped that my resting for 2 days paid off.
I got to the race a little later than I wanted to and ended up wayyyyy in the back of the start area. I tried to move up a little, but it was extremely crowded and shoulder to shoulder. Luckily, once I made my way to the start line, it wasn’t as bad as I thought. I still had to do some serious bobbing and weaving to come close to my pace. Not surprisingly my first mile was 8:24.
The next few miles were pretty good. I felt strong and in control. I decided to eat my Gu Chomps a little earlier because I didn’t want to crash like I did last time. I started eating one at a time every couple minutes at mile 5. I am not sure if this is what lead to my demise or not. It also could have been my iPod becoming sweat logged and the wheel not working, causing the volume to freeze at an extreme level. I didn't want to end the race having lost my hearing, so I turned it off. I was worried it would bother me, but there were so many people cheering and having the bands around kept my attention off the fact I wasn’t listening to my favorite tunes. Here I am at about mile 6, oh hai:
At about mile 7 I had the side stitch of all side stitches. It got...
