

Ah, the smell of spring is in the air! Our grand Diva, Mother Nature, is returning from the stark grey winter world to the bright, colorful renewing time of spring.
After a long hibernation, a simple detoxification program would be ever so revitalizing.
Did you know that every mammal in the animal Queendom seeks out and ingests clay? They instinctively know that when ingested, clay absorbs many times its own weight of toxins and helps to neutralize an overly acidic pH in the body.
We all accumulate toxins in our system from pollutants found in our air, soil, food, water, or electronically (EMF’s are the toxic effects created by the pollution of Electro-Magnetic Frequencies from over-head hydro poles, computers, cell phones, TV, etc.).
It would be impossible to avoid all toxins. However, we can help rid our body of toxins with a regular, effective plan. Because spring is a time of renewal and throwing off the past, it is a great time to undertake such an endeavour. The climate is more temperate, not as extreme as winter cold or summer heat. Detox’s are optimal when performed multiple times in a year. Ideally, we may wish to do mini detoxes on a regular basis, seasonally or monthly.
The food we eat and drink has a huge affect on our physical, emotional and mental well-being. Eating a light, simple plant-based diet assists the body in its natural detoxification processes by avoiding clogging it up with gunk in the first place!
The best approach to detoxing is to consider it as a maintenance program for your system that is to be done on a regular basis. You could choose one day a week to take a fast. Or, choose one day a week to eat only juices and blended meals to give your digestion a rest. Perhaps it would serve you to simply avoid all meat, or dairy or sugar or alcohol on that one day.
Technically, anything you do that puts less toxins in than is usual can be considered a detox! Anytime we lighten the burden of the body, it naturally begins to be better able to clear “stuff” out.
Cleanses come in many forms: colon cleanses, liver cleanses, parasite cleanses, candida cleanses - you can start wherever you feel most comfortable. You may want to get a book, or talk to your natural health practitioner to explore which detox program might be best for you. Just get started, and enjoy your detox during this wonderful, rejuvenating time of spring!
