Conjugated linoleic acid is a naturally occurring fatty acid component of beef, milk, and other foods. It is derived from linoleic acid (omega-6). CLA helps regulate how the body accumulates and retains fat. It can reduce appetite, promote weight loss, and increase lean muscle mass.

CLA occurs in various foods naturally raised beef, eggs, whole milk and cheese but these foods are also sources of saturated fat and cholesterol. Turkey, chicken and vegetable oils provide some CLA. It is also available in capsules (600-1,000 mg derived from sunflower or safflower oils).
