From its roots as a small distributor of European herbal remedies, Flora, established in 1965, is now one of the most trusted names in North America’s booming natural health industry. Flora’s head office has blossomed into a 40,000 square foot, certified organic manufacturing facility in British Columbia. Flora also boasts a 22,000 square foot, state-of-the-art office and production facility in Lynden, WA, situated on 5 acres of land, and surrounded by sprawling emerald farms. All stages of production are done in-house – from selection and lab testing of raw materials, to oil pressing and herb extraction, to encapsulation and final packaging. It is the birthplace of some of the most beloved natural health products, including Flor•Essence®, Udo’s 3•6•9 Oil Blend™ and Bija Exotic Teas®. Flora is also North America’s exclusive distributor of Dr. Dünner products from Switzerland and the Salus-Haus line of Floradix® herbal tonics from Germany.
In addition to providing you with the highest quality nutritional supplements available, Flora is dedicated to preserving the environment and in utilizing production and packaging practices that are ecologically sound. To demonstrate this commitment, Flora has purchased prime agricultural farmland in Washington State and Chile for the purpose of cultivating and testing a variety of certified organic herbs. Flora also contracts and cooperates with many local organic farmers to grow herbs under strict guidelines.
All of Flora’s supplements are manufactured in compliance with strict GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards, and the facilities and manufacturing procedures are in compliance with regulatory agencies in Canada and the U.S., including the Natural Health Products Directorate of Health Canada, and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Additionally, Flora is a Certified Organic Producer and Processor overseen by the third-party certifying agency, Quality Assurance International (QAI). All of the organic nutritional supplements that are prepared and distributed for you by Flora are guaranteed to be of the highest quality and chemical-free, right from the seed that is planted, to the harvest, and from the post-harvest facilities to the final production and packaging.
Only select farmer’s who do their own seed collecting, growing, harvesting and drying, provide seeds and herbs for Flora. After each harvest, a sample is sent to test for quality and potency with only the choicest materials being accepted. The herbs and seeds are quarantined in the freezer, or at room temperature, depending on what is best for the individual material and its active ingredients, and from there they are tested again. If they pass, they are then sorted, cut, and put through a sieve and metal detector, if necessary. At any time, if the herbs or seeds do not meet our high standards for quality and potency, they are rejected and the whole process starts again. Flora’s environmental commitment doesn’t stop with the growers! Only the best possible materials are used for product manufacturing and packaging. This includes the use of recyclable amber glass bottles with metal caps for all tonics, encapsulated herbs and oils, as opposed to plastic bottles and caps. Vegetarian capsules are used whenever possible for our encapsulated products.
When packing orders for shipments, Flora prefers an ecologically safe material naturally made from starch. This new and revolutionary loose-fill packaging material dissolves instantly in water, leaving no toxic residues. It is 100 percent biodegradable and may be discarded, composted in the garden, or simply washed down the drain.
Flora has been honored with numerous awards for its products and is a registered member of the Tru-Label Program in the United States. The company continually strives to remain a leader in the field of natural health by remaining committed to its mandate of offering only supreme quality products.
As a pioneer in the natural health industry with an incomparable dedication to quality, the Flora name has rightfully come to signify trust and integrity. From seed to finished product, you have our commitment to quality!
