I do have a question though: I heard that taking vitamin D also helps prevent one from getting sick, although prevention and immunity boosting might be two completely different things. Anyone care to tackle this question?

I attended a conference this week on Vitamin D. Researchers are saying it is important to take it to help build our immunity and fend off a host of diseases. In my opinion, boosting your immunity and prevention go hand in hand. Meaning, by boosting your immune system you can help prevent certain dis-eases such as the flu or common cold. Obviously there are many factors at play when it comes to Vitamin D and immunity, so I would recommend reading some well informed articles on the subject so you can make your own informed choices.
