A chiropractor should take the time to do a thorough clinical examination and accurately measure some objective data. He or she will then use the findings to produce an adequate treatment plan.

Data to be measured include:

  • Postural analysis
  • Gait analysis
  • Surface electromyograph
  • Muscle response testing
  • Active and passive ranges of motion
  • Muscle length
  • Palpation tenderness
  • Reflex point analysis
