Natural Recommendations To Turn A Breach Baby

After my experience of having an ECV, a friend of mine told me about a similar experience she had when her baby was breach. Here is her story:

Amira was the most incredible surprise a year into my marriage. I have to say, I was very scared to be a Mommy. I had babysat when I was in my teens and I’m a great auntie, but a Mommy?! That made me nervous. You couldn’t give them back! Then it hit me, not only was my life going to change, but my physical being too! At that moment I realized, it’s not about me anymore, it’s about another human life that I’m fully responsible for. Reflecting back to when I found out, my mind raced 1,000 miles a minute, “what do I eat?! What do I drink?!” Choosing a doctor that you’re comfortable with, and shares similar perspectives on natural versus western methods, was important to me. Knowing any fears or questions I had would be valued and not brushed off. The first thing that was discussed, was my health and making sure I was taking a high quality multivitamin and eating a well balanced organic diet to provide the best home for my fetus. Choosing Prenatal Oxylent was the best choice for me because it allowed me to drink my vitamins and stay hydrated throughout the day. My fluid levels were pretty close to perfect through out the pregnancy. I was so happy and every check up was so exciting to hear the heart beat and learn how my baby was progressing. I approached 35 weeks, and Amira was still breached. Time was ticking for her to have enough room to turn her self around, as she was growing so quickly.

As I’ve come to learn in my birthing class, every woman’s body, every baby and every birth experience is different. There are certain reasons why babies don’t do what they are supposed to for good reasons; medically we cannot explain and trust it’s for the best. For my breached situation, my MD, suggested I do something's to “trick her” to get her to move before she got too big. The first suggestion was to put frozen peas on top of my tummy. Funny enough, I felt her move quite a bit. The second suggestion was to get on the bed and put my head face down like your doing a downward dog, so what was the baby’s right side up is now their upside down. The last trick that was suggested, which was my favorite, was to have your partner talk to your pelvic area so the baby would be enticed to hear the voice. In the end one of those worked for me and I seriously think it was the peas!
